Exotic Pet Pals’ Services include: Dog Walking, Pet Sitting, Pet Reiki, Exotic Pet Nail Trimming, Small bird Wing Clipping, Bird Seed to Pellet Conversion & Pet Injection Administration.
The owner, Sharon, has a Bachelor of Science degree in marine biology. She is a life-long animal lover who even adores spiders, snakes and rodents. Professionally she worked for many years in the Education departments of Adventure Aquarium and Sea World Orlando, as well as Echoes of Nature in Bowie, where she remains as a Board member. Her biggest pet care experiences come from working as a vet tech for a wonderful exotic pet veterinary hospital in Winter Park, FL, as well as the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine.
During our visit, we take care of all your pets’ needs, including cleaning up any pet messes, so be sure to show us where the most common cleaning supplies can be found during the Meet & Greet. We will also check your mail, bring in newspapers and packages from your porch, water plants, and change lighting or blinds(only upon request). We will place your outdoor trash & recycle cans at your curb the night before collection, and return them after, upon request.
When you hire a professional pet sitter, your home is being cared for as well. Please be sure to lock all exterior doors and windows before you travel, and notify us if anyone else has been granted access to your home.
We recommend the standard 30-minute walk for most dogs, especially puppies or any dog spending the day in a crate. On hot days, we always provide water breaks & seek out shaded areas. All walks can also be customized to include outdoor & indoor play if you want your dog to have 30-minutes of interaction, but not necessarily walking outdoors that entire time. The 15-minute walk is ideal for senior or low-energy dogs.
